Certification Exam Information
Passing the certification exam is the final step in obtaining your NCBBHP credential. The exam questions are designed for candidates who have met all education, training, work experience, and supervision requirements for the credential. You will not be allowed to register for an exam until an NCBBHP certification specialist has approved your application and all supporting documents.
Remote Proctoring Option
The NCBBHP offers a remote proctoring option for the certification exams, allowing you to take the exam from home or the office.
How to Register for a Remote Exam
Once your application and supporting documents are approved, you will receive an email with registration instructions to complete the online exam registration form, pay your exam fee, and submit your form.
Technical Requirements for Remote Proctoring
- Laptop or desktop computer (no tablets or smartphones)
- Webcam, microphone, and speakers
- Stable internet connection (minimum 1 Mbps upload/download speed)
- Current version of the Google Chrome browser
- Ability to download and install the remote proctoring software.

Exam Day Procedures
- Log in to the exam platform 15 minutes before your scheduled time.
- Complete identity verification and room scan with the remote proctor.
- Clear your desk of all materials except those specifically allowed.
- Remain in view of the webcam throughout the exam.
Accommodations
Candidates requiring Americans with Disabilities (ADA) accommodations must complete and submit the NCBBHP Special Accommodations Request Form at least 30 days before the requested exam date. Documentation from a qualified professional specifying the needed accommodations is required.
Scoring
You will receive an unofficial score immediately upon completing the exam. Official scores are processed weekly, and your certification specialist will be notified of your results within 1-2 business days.
