Jimmy is a 1997 graduate from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He has lived in Council Bluffs Iowa since 2001 and has over 15 years’ experience working as a peer specialist. He has worked for two managed care organizations, two Integrated health homes, a drop-in center, and an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team. Jimmy has also worked as a crisis response peer specialist in collaboration with the Omaha police department and was an original member of the National Certified Peer Specialist test writing team in 2015. Jimmy sees his lived experience as a unique strength an cherishes the opportunity to provide hope to people he supports. Jimmy loves to spend time with friends and family and has a passion for fishing.
